Walk and Talk
Walk and Talk Therapy is conducted outside while walking side-by-side, and serves as an alternative to traditional therapy conducted in an office setting. The benefits of participating in therapy while engaging in physical activity are numerous.
- Clients gain mental health benefits from three approaches, rather than just one, which often leads to more rapid gains: 1) nature, 2) the treatment, and 3) exercise.
Exercise has the dual benefits of improving physical and emotional health. It has been proven to combat weight gain, heart disease, insomnia, anxiety, and depression.
While therapy promotes emotional well-being, clients can often experience negative emotions during the process, such as stress and anxiety. However, engagement in physical activity allows these emotions to be experienced differently, in a much more comfortable way.
- As a result of the physical and emotional benefits, clients feel better both during and after sessions.
